Seagate FreeAgent XTreme 1.5 TB USB 2.0 Port External Hard Drive-Black ST315005FPA2E3-RK

I purchased the Seagate drive to use with my iMac. I installed the drive using the Firewire connection and the CF card reader that uses the other firewire port stopped working. After several hours without any luck it appears that the drive does not meet the specifications for MAC and draws too much power.
Three bad drives out of three in one year. Really bad warranty process. I’ve wasted three hours trying to do the impossible. Read an impossibly small serial number, tried 24 times to enter information online and kept getting an error message, talked to a warranty rep who couldn’t give me any information without the serial number. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Throwing away the drive, eating the loss and never will buy the product again. Tried to give it no stars, but it made me give it one.
Sadly this 150 dollar paperweight wont turn on the first time out of the box. Waiting on hold with Seagate for a long time and have yet to speak to a human. Why me?!?! Zero stars for this loser. And what is with the huge and ugly white power supply?
This is the worst HD I’ve ever bought.
Less than a week of usage and a lot of bad signs:
1. “windows delayed to write”
2. “windows was unable to save all the data for the file $Mft” which is the master file table and that my friends is really not a good sign.
3. Then the click of death “click, click, click”
The folks at Seagate should get arrested for selling this.
This is a horrible product. I would think that Seagate can make a better product. Died after 2 days of light use. Drive would start to click and then unmount itself. Don’t buy even if it is cheap. What’s the point of having a dead backup drive? There has been so many complaints that resellers are selling them cheap, but at a big cost to consumers. If I could give this drive a 0 star, I would.
