Given this drive costs approximately $50 more than an unprotected drive of the same storage capacity, you’d be nuts not to purchase.
I viewed the WSJ demos video showing the drive being dropped into a pool, then heated until it reached 1500 degrees F, then cooled off with a hose and then the drive was removed and data retrieved. I really would have paid $100 or even more for both water and fire protection, so this is a steal. I purchases a 500M and 1T drive and both plugged in and just worked.
I believe this product is a great value and I rest easy knowing my data is protected on this device.
